To encourage #lawyers to become judges, perhaps we should apply the same techniques we use to encourage those at the bottom of the pay scale into work - take away some of the benefits they receive for being lawyers. #r4today

Yes - I was wondering if they might want to solve the problem of too few doctors/nurses & general low morale?

All because of “low morale”?! They want to try being in the position of having to chose whether to put the heating on or putting food on the table. Try living in the REAL world like the rest of us on minimum wage! Then tell me you have low morale! 🖕

How on earth can we accept this as a country, what an absolute piss take, are they taking on any more responsibilities? This is WRONG

The precise, timely contribution of the theatre scrub nurse may well be the difference between life and death to each and every patient. Beyond price

On the day after the news about Universal credit causing such terrible problems to the weakest in society, this news seems callous and unfeeling tbh. I understand a judges role but can we please show some mercy to those who really do need the financial help because of U/C.

If potential #judges are deterred by #austerity in the court system surely the answer is to address the source of the disengagement rather than throw money at the problem in another ill considered short term measure?

All in favour of cash injection into the CJS but what about all those hard working, dedicated public sector lawyers...paralegals.. admin staff... police officers struggling to keep the system going and bringing cases before the judges.. do they not merit a pay rise???

The justice system and access to justice are in a mess and failing apart thanks to this Government and all you can do is a story about judge’s pay. Why does everything have to relate to the PM’s pay. The last 4 have been pretty hopeless.
