Seriously? You are supposed to hold power to account. You're asking this now? 81,000 DWP related deaths and you address this now???

It is a system of ensuring that under Tory philosophy anyone who finds themselves unemployed are branded as spongers and gradually will be stripped of any financial assistance.

The solution is simple. Don’t claim any benefits. Go and find work instead like many other people.
-
I hope you never find yourself in a situation where you might need state help. There are nasty people who would think you are scrounging.
-
That’s true, I walk past Wetherspoons at 9.30 in the morning and see many the people of working age with beer and the racing page and think they must have a private income.
-
Maybe they work shifts? Just a thought!
-
I never thought of that. I hope they don’t get too drunk before work

I took some time to readup on Universal Credit this morning, i’d heard of it but not really paid it much attention before. I think its a great idea, i can certainly see why there are some that wont like it. I would like to see it go a bit further.....
-
Did you really need to read up on it? Have you not read the stories on increased food bank use and homelessness? Do you honestly believe that being on benefits is a choice lifestyle you over privileged wanker?
-
Yes for some it is, i am not over privileged at all. I grew on a council estate, i live in social housing and earn less than the national average.
-
Well ain’t you one of the lucky ones!
-
Nothing lucky about it, i have worked for everything i have! which aint much but i’m proud of it! I come from a family on a council estate, one of the worst estates in my town. I left school at 16 with no qualifications and i’ve never claimed a single penny of benefits!
-
Yeah and I’m the fuking pope!

By 2023 AI/robotics will be rolling out far faster than UC and unemployment will have doubled or tripled. Wake up.

A benefit designed to ensure claimants are faced with poverty and hardship if they receive the benefit and, hardly any benefit if they get a zero hour contract to avoid the benefit is not fit for purpose.
