Let this sink in. Head Teachers protesting! The Tories have systematically underfunded all services over the last 8 years. Make no mistake, we are in an absolute crisis.

My sons headteacher is marching today, he has my full support. He’s worked so hard with the rest of the staff and PTA to raise funds through school events, but parents can only contribute so much. Staff are now having to be laid off.

If schools are properly funded why do my nieces and nephew only do 4 and a half days a week because their schools cannot afford to stay open for a full 5 days as they did when I was their age?

Hold on, these head teachers are having a day out in London? Has their absence been authorised? Presumably they were unable to protest on their own time?

Which can’t be done on the weekend? The real knobs, aka May and co won’t listen anymore today than they would tomorrow! This protest won’t work, just like the last few haven’t! There are many head teachers paid more than the PM, maybe start saving money there first?

Pretty sure you’ve misread/ miss understood, my point was to protest at the weekend not on a school day! They should absolutely try, win or lose, but realistically when has the government ever prioritised the people over themselves?

I fully endorse the theory behind this march, school funding is shocking but please make me want to fight your corner! I have to grovel to a teacher if I wanted to take my child out of school in term time....and parliament wasn’t in session, no one was there!

I am a Conservative voter but this march is a sad indictment of our school system and funding. The government needs to look at this rapidly

There's a reason we have private schools. They don't want the common person to have a high-quality education, just enough to get by. If they really cared, they'd scrap private schools

Sadly, I have to send my daughter to a private school as the state option given is in special measures. 2 miles away another state school is outstanding. If state schools had zero tolerance on discipline and were all the same it would level the playing field.

It's not just the school that needs to have zero tolerance though as discipline begins at home. Unfortunately many of the students that schools have massive problems with have never been disciplined at home making it 20x harder. Why should teachers be the ones to blame?

I’m certainly not blaming teachers for anything, they do a great job in the circumstances. If private schools were to be scrapped then state schools need to be run identically so everyone gets the same level of education. Private schools also reduce cost and burden on state.

If people want to pay twice for education that's up to them. I just don't like it when state and private schools are compared in terms of outcome. If state schools had the same money and a maximum of 20 per class then the gap in standards would decrease dramatically.

The same headteachers of uncontrolled discipline in their shoddily run school's who, like the kids, refuse to accept any responsibility. #JogOn
