I don't care what the critics think - I'll watch and make up my own mind.

In her last role, she played a woman pretending to be a doctor. So, clearly typecast.

Except the Doctor isn't a doctor! And I remember Tom Baker playing a doctor--So, clearly, typecast! And Peter Davison played Tristan Farnon, a vet; and I have a nagging feeling that Patrick Troughton played a doctor.

Patrick Troughton's son, David Troughton, played Dr Bob Buzzard in the excellent 'A Very Peculiar Practice'.

She's great in everything else, she'll be great in Doctor Who. I hope they bring back Madam Vastra, Jenny and Strax for new episodes at some point too.

What a shocker they give it positive reviews.... It's hardly like they were ever gonna say anything bad about the first female Dr lol.

But why listen to the critics? Just wait for the die hard fans to WATCH it when it's released & sit back & you'll see the Internet implode...let us just be/get excited for once without the criticism of the what ifs & maybes

Its the die hard fans who are tired of gender politics and agendas entering the show, which i now assume will be cranked upto 11

Travesty. Dr Who is a man. This is just a continuation of the stupidity that infiltrated Dr Who from its return. First romance, then promoting homosexuality. Now pandering femo-Nazis. What next? A trans-sexual dolphin playing the hero? Perhaps Biggles should be given a make over?
