Although commendable for showing her the world, what about Ellie's schooling? If Ellie is domiciled in the UK, I would imagine her local Education authority would look at this with interest? After all, parents taking children on hols in term time have the book thrown at them.

So long as you can prove that a child is getting a certain level of education with home schooling, then all education authorities have to allow it. Travel is a great way of building on your education. You learn about history, geography, cultures and all manner of things.

We had a family of 5 from France, camp in our garden who were cycling around Europe. Kids always doing 3R’s enroute, plus language.

Oh WOW, what a way to get an education. I admire this mother for everything she has done. Her family and friends should be proud of her, just like her daughter. Good luck to them and their futures.

It's a 50/50 toss up, some were ment to be great mothers and some, sadly aren't. I give praised to anyone who has kids at young age and actually does well for them. Life would be way different had some not been irresponsible.

I was going to be all judgey but she's paying her own way and giving her daughter the education of a lifetime. Classroom education will still be there. What a fantastic experience to travel with your mom as your best friend.
