And no future opportunity for most UK citizens to work and live in the EU as a result.

To be fair we want to encourage skills to come here from anywhere in the world, the Government needs to look at how to attract the best to come here.

Fair to all, just as it should be. The sooner we have a skills based points system the better; a huge number of skilled workers were discriminated against purely because they weren't from the eu. Skilled? Yes please. Unskilled? No Thankyou.

I was never given a job because of my nationality. Always went through skill check interview and personality kind of check. Don’t know anyone who’s nationality was prioritised before skills one possessed.

"a bar on low-skilled EU migrants may damage business" Wrong. "low skilled" tends to be used to signify "E8+2". Most are not. They merely take low skilled work. It's good pay compared to countries where median wages are 1/2 our minimum. Employers prefer them to UK applicants

You would have thought Brexiteers would want to keep European immigrants getting preference given how long they spent moaning about migrants and refugees flooding Europe... They really should make up their minds their racist comments conflict with their Brexit position.

Given the proven factual benefits they provide to the country and the net financial gain they add too this is simply barking mad as usual from this current government.

Hugely significant and one in the eye for leavers who bought the line about control of borders = reduced immigration. Every free teade agreement will come with an element of Labour mobilitypic.twitter.com/RbTTDRtaPr

Amazing that so many people interpret the stripping away of rights from EU citizens as the UK not discriminating against non-EU citizens.

This is ridiculous. If Brits voted to leave the EU because they feared immigration, did they do it because they feared muslim immigration or because they feared the Italians, the Frenchies and the Polish in the UK?

A residence permit is required if staying for longer than 3 months, which is essentially a formality, not a work permit. A residence permit is not initially required to seek work.
