Now this almost makes me want vote Labour. Since the privatisation of ALL of the utilities, the salaries of their Chief Executives and senior managers have increased disproportionately. GREED is the only obvious conclusion. Most utilities are owned by overseas organisations.

I see it is the envy for those with high salaries that drives you, not a better life for those who work :)

It is interesting that you are more worried about the high salaries of the executives then anything else, because it is what really on your mind, not how well they perform and how much public pays for the services :)

My view relates to the ‘differentials’ between the ‘average’ and ‘top’ salaries/wages in an organisation; a high differential indicates high exploitation of people, by one means or another, whether over an overseas workforce, or personnel in this country. Share profits fairly.

What “faily” means? Everybody understand it differently. Usually people are paid more if they can do something in high demand that few people able to do and less if they don’t have any special skills. Why do you think it is not fair?

I agree entirely; that is how I developed my career. These days, however, it appears that many are being paid on the basis of their job title, rather than their skills or ability.

Still depends on the industry. Say, in software development in some companies you can do quite well without having anybody to manage. In finance in the city the pay is quite good too. Interestingly this are probably the least unionised professions.

Morning Star - a Communist newspaper that used to be financed by the USSR. Supporters of ideology which murdered millions of people.

Well investment in the industry certainly better since privatisation, I can't believe any government would prioritize any spending with social and nhs on the table
