I always thought that the BBC got the name for their show from the Strictly Ballroom film anyway. #JogOnBBC

Watched all of Bodyguard, not a whiff of Kevin Costner. Feel misled by the use of the word in the title BBC, please change it.

Bit rich of them since they nicked the title from that film.

“strictly curved’ is a meaningless name on its own. Only if you know that the word ‘strictly’ in the context relates to dancing. In other words she’s using it only because the BBC have used it and popularised it. She’s using the BBC’s trade mark to sell her business.

Not quite, her context it right, she only allows curved women to join, therefore it is a'strictly curved' only policy . . . She not doing anything wrong at all.

I see what you are saying but I believe the choice of the word has clearly been influenced by the BBC show. It means people would strongly suspect it has something to do with dancing with no further explanation required.

As the title of the BBC programme was based on the film Strictly Ballroom, no?

I’m sure it was, but was the film title registered as a trade mark? If it was they can also object to use of the word strictly in relation to a business based on dancing.

I think the BBC are being a little tosserish, to be honest.

I know that if I had a registered trade mark that I had spent years building up I would object to another business using part of my trade name to make money.

they do not own the word strictly and never should be able too own it. they only exist because of the charitable licence fee that only the government seem to want to impose on the nation
