With the current currency exchange rates I doubt petrol prices will fall for long and if they remain low, goods inside the Supermarkets will increase to compensate.

The government on the other hand are talking about putting up fuel duty. Fuel duty has been outstripping income anyway despite supposedly being pegged to the rate of inflation because it has been pegged to the RPI which has consistently outsripped the growth in earnings
