Australia still has Woolworths
-

-
They do! But it's more of a supermarket and seemingly no one calls it Woolies, they call it 'big w' - or that could just be my sister and her fiance/fiance's family.
-
I’m surprised they don’t call it Woolies, that’d sound more Aussie!

-
I know! I tried to remind my sister but she was having none of it.
-
As an Australian I can assure you we certainly do say woolies. Big W is a seperate company(sort of like A target). Every true Aussie calls it woolies
-
I feel lied to by my sister (and several other melbournians), wait til I talk to her!
My favourite remains Maccas, for renamed Australian things though. -
Maybe they don’t say it down in Melbourne. I know they definetly do yo here in NSW. Maccas is probably the most iconic modern Australian slang

Can you only by needles from woolworths in Australia?

What idiot thought that was logical? It's not going to control the needles sold. There are easier ways to figure out the perpetrator!

How can you ban the sale of sewing needles! Many everyday objects could be used as weapons - where do you stop?
