Feminist dubious statistics tactics: When trying to prove how common rape is, use "number of accusations", rather than "number of convictions". When trying to prove how rare false accusations are, use "number of convictions" rather than "number of accusations".

And of course, the low proportion of convictions for "false accusations" is proof of how rare it is, according to feminists. And yet at the same time, according to feminists, the low proportion of convictions for rape is proof of the disgusting misogynistic patriarchal society.

Does the phrase, 'Innocent until proven guilty' mean anything to you? Seems your so-called article is trying to, albeit indirectly, 'lead' the audience in a certain direction. Would have thought the BBC would have learnt its lesson in dabbling in legal matters with Sir Cliff ...

2-10% of claims turn out to be false. What about the ones we don't find out about?
-
False claims we don’t find out about?
-
Yea. When the accuser lies and no one figures out they lied. There's no way i don't believe that happens

Here's a fact: You can't prove an allegation after 36 years has gone by. According to British standards, accusing someone of such a heinous crime with no such proof would make you guilty of defamation and libel.

Why do your headlines above photos often seem to say one thing while the description of the story underneath say something else? Stop trying to be provocative for the sake of it. It's unworthy of the BBC.

we should be sceptical of the notion.. despite the third line of your article being an open acknowledgement that in 2-10% of rape accusations, the accusers are lying... if you want to say it's improbable, go for it. but don't say we should be sceptical of the very notion itself
-
I assume they are all lying until evidence is shown proving that their claims are true. That's how an impartial justice system works. Believe the accused until the evidence shows their guilt.
-
No, an impartial justice system works by making no judgements until the case is properly weighed and considered, with the default position given to everyone, accused and victim, that they are innocent, or acting in good faith. All allegations should be taken seriously but 1/2
-
This allegation should be taken seriously. And during the course of the investigation, when she is found to not have any supporting evidence to back up her claim, she should be fined for making a false report.

The presumption of guilt in sexual assault accusations by women has led to a loss of credibility. Read the 'Boy who cried Wolf' fable for more information...

They are too easy to make; and are taken too seriously.
