I don't recognise this country anymore. And I think that the government wants to get rid of the NHS...

Maybe "your" country is flooded because the people do not want to do such jobs. As for giving them loans, they'll get the money at some point. I'd say the biggest problem is the need for degrees in the first place. But thats another discussion.

Although i completely support international workers working in the
#nhs , it is just bizarre that that is the countries first point of call. We should ramp up recruiting locally as well as have a point base system for seeking staff from abroad. -
You think they aren't doing that? They can't get enough people interested to cover the widening gap, hence the need to look elsewhere.

Conversation needs to be had about how big we allow NHS to become, speaking as a current nurse of 20 years and previous NHS manager. Give NHS more money and it will spend it and come back for more
-
absolutely right - however much money we throw at the NHS for political points scoring, undoubtedly more and more will be asked for. More and more regulation, governance etc etc

Makes sense once we leave the EU, get the best from all over the world. Corbyn lovers will moan, they moan about everything apart from what the idiot says!
-
But Brexiters don't want that. That still means immigrants coming here.
-
Yes we can choose who has got the relevant skills needed. We don't need more people cleaning cars on the side of the road or taxi drivers, coffee shop workers etc...

I heard (directly from an MP). That we will be able to recruit from around the world after
#brexit and not just Europe. Hopefully hospitality industry can get awesome workers from NZ, Oz, India etc like we used to. - 1 more reply

The many important overseas workers in the NHS are not from the EU but outside, we have plenty of unskilled workers, jobs which U.K. citizens could easily do, bringing down our unemployment rates
