You're quoting an Independent
Commission's thoughts / findings as if they're fact - lets face it, some of their resources & sources are far from independent thinkers.........Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

govt. technically evicted thousands of pensioners who were living in park homes because universal credit didn't cover standing charges and ground rents.

Might be interesting to see the measures of proverty. Are they: no one in the household can afford to smoke or drink, they’re not able to watch a 48” tv, can’t afford to play bingo or the lottery?

Most people are in debt in the UK (including me) because my benefits have been cut constantly over these past few years. I would work if I could. However I'm forced to claim a new benefit, which is going to cause me a lot more strain. It's
@DWP's faults why we are in this mess...Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Yes, income only amounts to 99% of poverty... the other 1% is how much money you make...

Correct, idleness, believing you are entitled with out contributing and having children you can't afford is.
-
I’m not from the UK but from someone who was born into poverty and had to claw my way out, I completely agree. It’s a cycle, welfare recipients get paid more with more children. So they have children they can’t afford. Plus these sorts of people pass down these sorts of ethics.

We can see where this is going: ‘experts’ are determined to change the metrics to place more people in poverty. Undoubtedly from the Left who want higher taxes and more benefits.
-
ofc we want higher taxes lmao do you think jeff bezos having like 2 bilion dollars is normal? he could get rid of poverty alltogether but yeah higher taxes are so bad
-
People like him won't pay more tax. They will move it off shore. Higher taxes will only hit ambitious hard workers. The 40 to 100k earners.
-
that is possible but higher taxes for people who don't struggle with money isn't such a bad or harmful thing
-
You are missing the point raising taxes on individuals doesn't work. Those who have large amounts say over several million have the methods of making money move so tax isn't paid.raising taxes will only hit people who worked hard to be in a middle class position. 40-100k earners
-
okay then what would you suggest? there needs to be a way to level people's incomes a bit
-
More people in work and we are currently seeing wage growth, so both of those areas are the best ways to help individuals and families.
