Hypersensitive loons out in force again.

I disagree with your use of language but wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment. I'm wondering if the show's been watched and explored in its entirety before the protests of fat shaming started.

How can you be offended by something that hasn’t aired yet? I’m offended by Piers Morgan so I just don’t watch GMB!

I bet a large number of people complaining about this will happily watch Love Island.

Why is every attempt made at addressing a healthy body image deemed as “shamming”. Fat is not beautiful, it is dangerous to health and wellbeing, with that said, so is anorexia!

-
Exactly - I’ve been both and I just want ppl to be a good weight so they stay well x
-
Same here! Fat shame comes from within and hearing how it is okay to be fat is NOT helpful!

If you’re offended by a TV show....... hmmm..... you could always do something radical and turn the channel over rather than go on a crusade

These kind of petitions are simply ridiculous, as the simple truth is if you don't like a show don't watch it.

People start petitions for everything and nothing lately. I have petition fatigue.
-
It might be time to start petitions to stop petitions

Amen to that

With the
@BBCNews report into childhood obesity on the rise maybe we need to encourage more of this and stop this delusion that a unhealthy lifestyle is absolutely fine -
Well it isn’t really other people’s decision, and the show is more about a girl being bullied into losing weight rather than her deciding she wants to herself.
-
It certainly is other people’s decision I am solely responsible for the dietary requirements, exercise and healthy lifestyle of my children and I take that very seriously. I wish other parents would do the same every time I see a fat kid
-
Maybe your own kid, but the show is about a girl being bullied and abused into fitting the “perfect body shape”. It further perpetuates the idea in cinema that for any person to be happy, accepted, and have friends, they must be ‘thin’.
-
No it’s not. It’s about a girl that loses a lot of weight due to having her jaw wired shut. (She was punched in the face) Then uses the new confidence to exact revenge on her would be bullies.
-
Well I just hope that the show, if it does end up coming out, will be about the fact that you can and should be allowed to have confidence, regardless of your weight.
-
I hope it is half a hour or so of escapism not to be taken to seriously. It’s a tv show which isn’t supposed to be real life. I live in real life and it’s boring
