You really not that confident Ian? Colombia are no pushovers like we discussed before, still think we’ve got enough to negotiate our way past them though. Suppose we will just have to see

Think we will be fine. Whatever happens, this for me has been best World Cup from an England pov. 2006 the first one i really remember. Less said about 2010 and 2014 the better. Feels good to have confidence in both club and country

It’s interesting that the scheduling has had us playing last in each round...it’s allowed the competition to unfold without England & set an agreeable tone. That last minute winner against Tunisia was so crucial.

Back in 1990 we weren’t good in the groups, scraped thru against Belgium & then there were with an “easy” QF against Cameroon...well we needed 2 penalties !

This time, a good 30 mins against Tunisia, good 45 against Panama has raised expectations too far. Tonight shows how thin our squad is. Our 1st XI on TOP form will win against the very best perhaps say, 1 or 2 in 10 ?

So could we win it ? Potentially...but probability is against us. Win on Tuesday and the hype will start all over again of course
