Doctors can withdraw life support from baby Charlie Gard against his parents' wishes, a High Court judge ruleshttp://bbc.in/2om7FL2

Let him live. There's a chance he could survive & lead a happy life. Any chance is better than no chance

-
actually there's no chance of that. Maybe years from now yes, but those years will be filled with pain. Alot of pain.
-
But it's not the courts decision to make

#CharlieGard it is heart breaking for his parents but who is paying for his treatment at the moment? -
Taxpayers, and I'm glad I'd rather pay for this little boy to have half a chance at life then pay for paedophiles in prison.
-
I'd rather my tax be used to help dozens if not hundreds of UK children who need less expensive health care.
-
Well I'm glad for Charlie's sake you don't get the choice on how the government spend our tax.

This is real big brother stuff. Parents shud be allowed to take their child for treatment. To take any steps that all poss has been done
-
The treatment proposed in USA has never been used on a human, is very invasive & painful, hasn't the tot got a right to die in peace?

Its sad that when terminally ill people want end their life they can't and when a family want to try and keep their son alive they can't
-
This is spot on-I understand the (heartbreaking) reasons for ending his life but why don't they apply to an adult in the same circumstances?
-
Seems to me the courts are playing god in both circumstances. We don't treat our animals this way so why our loved ones?
-
I only hope yesterday's ruling can have some impact on the Right to Die cases of the future.

What's normal?
-
I can't see anything says he has no brain function or response! They've raised £1.2m they need to give him (they say) "one chance of life"
-
If the brain cells are degenerating and there are no meds/vaccine to repair. $100m wouldnt do any good. The parents just learn to let go.

The judge made the correct decision, they should just accept it and spend time with their son while they can
-
They should be allowed to take him to America if they wish
-
Not if the treatment would be futile. If that weren't the case then I'd be outraged too. But as it stands, I agree with the judge
-
Unfortunately you never know until you try. Science shows more and more that seemingly futile causes in the past may not have really been
-
Except the researcher did say he wasn't aware of how severe Charlie's case was and doubted it would help
