@BBCNews BBC very quick to infer police responsible for death, not so quick to tell us what man was doing when Taser used. -
presumably he was being shocked with 50,000 volts through the heart

@BBCNews thought the taser was designed to not kill? -
It's not necessarily the taser that killed him. There will be other factors involved.
-
he could take a heart attack of course. However who would get the blame?
-
Taser wouldn't necessarily cause a heart attack. It's likely other factors were involved.

Can't possibly be true - they are completely "safe". They told us so. It's not arming the police by the back door at all.
-
Would you not rather Police have taser than be routinely armed and people get shot like in the US?
-
it was sold to us as the "safe" alternative. It is clearly not that.
-
It's safer than being shot. There will be other factors involved that haven't been reported yet, ie drug use, self harm.
-
Shouldn't have either. UK police kill 10x more citizens than terrorists & we should not give them tools to kill even more.
-
So what wld your solution be when police are faced with someone wielding a machete?Have officers face serious injury/death?
-
they seemed to cope before tasers. If faced with a machete they would always have been, and still would be armed with guns!
-
It's an unarmed officer that would turn up and face a machete. Firearms back up could be 20mins + away.

@BBCNews he must be doing something WRONG to be tasered. Why can't the headline be about his wrong doings? - 1 more reply
