Chancellor George Osborne reveals increase in national living wage http://bbc.in/1J3GGVQ #budget2015pic.twitter.com/6LKJSCniAH
@BBCBreaking Living Wage is already set at £7.85……how does that work?
@Pontecarloblue living wage isn't currently law...new national living wage will be...
@paul_rc so it replaces minimum wage?
@Pontecarloblue yes is my understanding.
@BBCBreaking £7.20 is a shit living wage. I'm already higher than that and struggling.
@BBCBreaking interesting you qualify name of so called 'IS' but happy to call 'Living' wage when it obviously isn't!
@BBCBreaking #budget2015 All that will happen is that employeers will cut weekly hours so your wage won't change,should be annual min wage!
@Bladerunner1511 makes no sense - employers would already spend min to achieve work required so less hours wouldn't achieve that work
@Sprungbogart I know it makes not sense, I have already seen it happen though. If you are on zero hours contracts trust me it will.
. @BBCBreaking living wage means nothing, unless they make that minimum wage.
@tweetsbylou @BBCBreaking it effectively will be...just rebranding and increasing minimum wage by c.40p
. @Sprungbogart @BBCBreaking Oh, OK, why didn't they say that then!!?
@tweetsbylou @BBCBreaking that's politics...makes better headlines, makes it the thing we're talking about and redefines the argument!
@BBCBreaking Big deal! He's changed the words minimum wage to living wage & took far more off lowly-paid workers via tax credit cuts etc.
@Stifanovich @BBCBreaking
So-called increase about 40pence then? Not even a postage stamp!
