@BBCBreaking how can a dog BE illegal? Poor creature was evidently horribly raised; it should not be pinned down on the animal or its breed.

@BBCBreaking think this says less about the breed and more about the type of people who keep illegal dogs. A well raised dog isn't violent.

@bex_mcbride @BBCBreaking *less likely* to be violent surely. Not that easy to overcome 40 million years of evolutionary programming.

@jworkman99 @bex_mcbride @BBCBreaking The Canidae family emerged during the late Palaeocene. Canine domestication is relatively recent.

@LukeJZMoore @bex_mcbride @BBCBreaking evolutionary programming? Survival of the fittest does not prove guilt. It's how the dog is raised

@BBCBreaking owner of dog should be jailed for life, why people keep these dogs at all let alone around an innocent child is beyond me.

@jworkman99 @BBCBreaking I come from a dog family but know not to have a dangerous breed near children. They are illegal for a reason.

@darrencoleman31 @BBCBreaking as have I, but legality has nothing to do with it. My point is any dog can be taught to be nasty or to love.

@jworkman99 @darrencoleman31 @BBCBreaking Yes, but some are nasty by nature. How often do you hear of labradors killing kids?

@m4ttru55ell @jworkman99 @BBCBreaking so spot on certain breeds are a massive risk, these are the dogs we should keep away from choldren.
