.@BBCBreaking nice to see Lord Patten's admitting Entwhistle was forced to resign ... i.e. sacked. Why did there need to be a Fall Guy?

@BBCBreaking on FiveLive it was 12months notice if sacked yet 6months pay if he resigned, so why was he given 12 months?

@BBCBreaking Most full time employees have to complete a probationary period of up to 6 months.. Did this not apply to Entwistle. If no why?

.@BBCBreaking Yes, but +why+ was Entwistle entitled to 12 months pay if SACKED? What made him different to the rest of us? #BBC

@DTraynier @stillawake Is it different? In my last job I was on three months notice period. If sacked, would’ve had three months pay.

@gothick @stillawake Sacked or made redundant? Notice pay for the latter but not the former, surely?

@DTraynier @stillawake Not as far as I'm aware. Getting sacked doesn't affect the notice period.https://www.gov.uk/dismissal/overview …

@gothick @stillawake Fair enough, I'm no employment law expert. I still think 450K for 3 mths & a resignation pisses the license fee away
