The weather was very hot and sunny

Can you imagine if Live Aid was happening today? Johnson and Patel would accuse Geldof and Ure of virtue signalling - until they saw the millions supporting it and suddenly they'd be there in their Live Aid tee shirts.

Interestingly, Geldof attacked the government’s response to Ethiopia and directly argued with the PM over taking of VAT on the record, but later famously shared a nightcap with Thatcher at Downing Street.
