        Britain joined in September 39. So to September 40 is 1 year. To Sept 41 is 2 years. Sept 42 is 3 years. Sept 43 is 4 years. Sept 44 is 5 years. And Sept 45, when it ended, was 6 years.

        We never did adopt metric distances are roads are measured in miles. I just love the first woman who says you don't get as many miles to the gallon when you are driving in kilometres in Europe, that really is gold for stupidity
