Today’s African #proverb: Let's not worry about past illnesses; let's try to cure future ones. A Swahili proverb sent by Coletta Elizabeth Moras, Mombasa, Kenya. How do you interpret this proverb? https://bbc.in/2GPHTuR

The horrors of the past cannot be undone, anger & worry are wasted there...we should be mindful, but not stressed over them. We should study & learn from things past, then devote that time, energy, & emotion to ensuring that such things do not happen again.

I believe this proverb has nothing to do with sicknesses, prevention or healing: it is all about "ENGAGING THE FUTURE" For example; Creating a new core of visionary leaders, who will inspire and encourage Africans to develop confidence in themselves and in their capacities.pic.twitter.com/RQEJsm7obC

Well we need to study past illness to cure future ones. The whole edifice of modern and traditional medicine is build on worries about and observations of the impact of past illness!!! But the message on prevention is noted:)

We should not think much about past troubles or difficulties but rather improve on our thinking and actions to prevent same occurences from happening in tomorrows time

What’s done is done, it’s only by focusing on the present and doing the best that you can in this moment that you can ensure a beautiful future.

Who ever said this perhaps meant Prevention is better than Cure #cure
