Brigitte was labelled a "trokosi" - a wife of the gods - aged just 7. She went on a journey through Ghana and Togo to find out to find out why her family gave her away and what the now banned practice means. We need to stand with those whose story and future has been shattered by traditions or a past that is shattered. We must give hope and dignity to those who have been shamed and hurt. They deserve their identity and dignity. #africanchilddreams @howfoundation11 #FrancisMonari

Dear Editor, Is there a Part Two that tells us more about the practice? What happens at the shrines. How are those banished to these shrines clothed, fed? What’s the life there? When can you lift that lid so the world can see right through such an anachronistic practice?

What a deplorable practice and a gross violation of the rights of those poor children. Those kind of practices should be legally banned and the perpetrators prosecuted
