Dear Africa,
At what point will you stop allowing men in academia to continue shamelessly body-shaming and dress shaming female students?
From,
A Fed Up African Woman.

If you are a child of God, as stated on your profile, then you probably know that God commands His daughters to dress modestly, to cover themselves so that they don't draw men to lust after them.
-
Please stop interpreting the Bible wrongly. Who are you to tell women how to dress. You are not God.
-
Too many men use the Bible to justify their sexual irresponsibility then blame it on a woman's 'indecent dressing.'

And men claim to be the rational sex, but can have their attention diverted from books, by BARE SHOULDERS and LEGS. K.

I refer you to psychology and understand how the mind works. Health environment is essential young lady

Another case of majoring in the minors. Instead of managing the institution better & improving its academic ranking, management is concerned about what the students are wearing?

I think women's lobby groups in Zambia need to take this issue to the Constitutional Court for interpretation. In my opinion Management can and should be sued for sexual discrimination!

Sho!!! It's exhausting being female in Africa...with men using us as excuses for their weaknesses.

What’s wrong with just dressing modestly? Lol people are really strange. The other day. Some girl on Twitter was saying she wish she could just be naked because clothes are a form of oppression.

HOW??? How are clothes oppressing you?? Educate me please

The so called modest dressing came with the colonialists before that we all know how exposed our bodies were and yet our ancestors had self control,

Pls, our ladies need to be free and be free from worry too....pls pls pls...
-
pls pls pls. When you are done being free and exposing your privates to all, do not come crying wolf when 'they' flock after you to have a taste of your advertised goodies. ADVICE: Be 'free' to your spouse and you will enjoy this freedom you crave
-
Advise well noted even if not welcome but again freedom is when one can choose to expose all her privates to all and still not be worried that she will be flocked after by men, let alone be harmed or raped for being herself. Patriarchy must end!!
-
Not patriarchy. Most Africans were ok being naked before the advent of the colonial lords. Religion brought a new awareness. The Almighty creator clothed man. We aligned to this as best for us. We can't go back to the pre-knowledge era
-
so u r suggesting every lady must live in perpetual fear or the only way to avoid that is to be robed like a nun? Think about your daughter living like this for a sec...
-
Living in fear will not be part of the things to worry about for a lady who dresses respectably. The advise says: stop dressing half-naked. You don't need to dress like a nun before you accept you are not half naked. Half-naked in not an ambiguous term
-
so u describe the lady in the pic of the story as "half-naked"? Hello Mr. Not-An-Ambigious-Term man...
