Today’s African #proverb: The crab lost its head because it had too many friends. An Akan proverb sent by Kwaku Addai Asamoah, Kumasi, Ghana. How do you interpret this proverb? https://bbc.in/2GQnR3x

Is a good thing to have a friend, but too many friends brings about distractions and make you lost of tracks...

Too many friends leaves many unvetted, supplying enemies with the cover of friendship, close enough for ambush, so now the crab's head IS its back, and a backstabber would also be a headstabber.
