The only culture and economy stuff permitted by the lawmakers are corruption, embezzlement and looting. Any other thing for the citizen is not permitted.

raising a child is a duty of both parents not just the mother. Paternity leave is in the best interests of the child, mother and the father.

I support the leave if those men will stay home and help their wives, feed baby (if taking bottle), change daiper and comfort baby at night to allow mother rest but we all know most men dont do this (some do). It will be used to sit watch news, football or meet friends or gfs

Why shld men go on paternity leave 4 crying out loud?Who made them pregnant? This is annoying, becos women go thrgh alot just to hv their baby&the few months for their maternity leave is not even enough to take care of the baby.oh Lord forgive some pple's talk

Our culture sees child caring as sole responsibility of the woman, the man is to fend for the family and not take on domestic chores.

Why do we couch a lot of rubbish in the name of culture? Should a transient, dynamic way of life be used as premise in lawmaking?

It boils down to the fact that one with more than one wife may not be able to practice that unlike those with one. That's the veiled "culture" referred to.

It should be supported. While in some establishments, women enjoy up to six months of maternity leave, men deserve some rests.

A 2-week paternity leave won’t be a bad idea at all. The man needs to stabilize the home front, especially during the first few weeks of childbirth. It serves as health and moral booster for the new baby mother.

Men are really not protected in Nigeria. Real soon the tide will completely change and we'll become the 'marginalized'
