if it were a foreign company, you guys will blur out the companies name on the products, then take ur reporting to such companies to allow them to make a statement and take actions towards that effect.... and report the actions they took... ejoor go and receive sense

BBC is evil. Codeine cough syrup is a prescription drug. British Co. still produce and sell it. What is Emzor's fault there. De- marketing??
-
If the dregs of society in the North decided to ruin themselves by abusing drugs and sniffing toilet pits that is their problem. Nonsense.
-
Calling people the dregs of society. Congratulations. You just earned the best humanitarian award.

And what's with the silence on the chaining of the mentally ill persons in the film!! It's an inhuman way to handle the "addicts"

What are the names of the other companies?. The report was more focused on northern Nigeria but there was no mention of the leading brand of cough syrup with codeine sold in the north. We need a wholistic view to combat this menace.

You’re right - there are almost certainly others involved. But it took months of work to nail these individuals - keeping our journalists safe, checking everything w lawyers etc. To look at every pharma company in Nigeria is a 5-yr project & we wanted to get this story out
-
Thanks for the feedback and the good job you have done. It has started yielding results. I hope more Nigerian journalists get involved.

Thank you :) the lead journalists on this, the ones who found and pursued the story, are both Nigerian -

Pharmaceutical companies like Emzor apparently made hundreds of millions in profit from codeine sales alone. But, hey, let's allow them the denial that they are unaware of the gross impact codeine had on lives. Sad!https://twitter.com/BBCAfrica/status/991230005614129152 …

Many people will die of withdrawal syndrome and sick people that actually need the product might not have access to it, even if they do, it might not be that affordable. Just make sure the products are delivered to certified pharmacies/hospitals.
