Should Christians give 10% of their income to the church, or is it just a way for preachers to get rich? The BBC's @briticoyemo reports ➡ https://bbc.in/2vvyT96 pic.twitter.com/BoBxbZPyVS

We give 10% of our income to the church because of the below reasons and not to make any preacher rich: 1. To promote the Goodnews (The Gospel) 2. To help the needy among us. We can all testify to the fact that, most Africa countries have benefited from "Tithe".

Most of the churches in Africa have built mission schools and hospitals, they also provide some communities with good drinking water. Some churches now have credit unions that supports their members who are into business and start-ups.

Do you realise that the churches ask for money for these projects which are not Tithes? And some of them are donations from believers? Besides, You haven't told me the names "In Africa " of these churches who used "Tithe".

It is a matter of faith. No faith, no tithe. You are not forced to tithe. Mal.3:10-11. It is only for those who have faith to believe God's word. It is not for everybody. Does God need help??

A very deceiving way for the "supposed men of God" to get rich.

Even though paying tithe is biblical,l prefer giving money to the less privileged and orphans.Because 80% of churches in Nigeria has turned to business mall.Where Pastors live in pleasant luxury.

A way for preachers to get rich. No point in giving your hard earned money to something that should accept you in no matter what.

Every Christian has the right to cut out the middleman and go straight to doing God's work, which is to help the poor, taking care of Widows and orphans and also caring for strangers amongst you. That is what tithes is meant for and it shouldn't be the preachers responsibility.

Not sure, as expressly defined in Christianity. But the concept of tithing... I think they call it Zakat? Not sure. Just wanted to emphasize that tithing is a pre-Christian concept, and so the question aught to be considered broadly.

Church is a religious house, not a bank, rich and wealthy individuals should give to the needy! Pastors should work and make earnings not using sermon to siphon money from believers!
