How about instead of blaming the mother you blame society for drilling into our brains that light is right and dark is bad.

Yes, but the mother may also be thinking that if they are light they will be successful in society. I know this is a far fetched example, but we often eat food that is bad, but we still eat it. We do this saying, “that will never happen to me.” Same predicament

True. A lot of parents do things that are harmful to their children thinking that it will help them in life. It happens all of the time.

But these women are being told that this could harm the baby and they don’t care. It’s not about wanting them to be successful in society. They just don’t give a damn 🤷🏾‍♀️

The centuries of propaganda and social conditioning, combined with the global mistreatment of darker skinned people is what’s really appalling.

Yeah. People seem to be assuming that this is all about the superficial. Although some people are doing it for those reasons it's also most likely people thinking that light skin will help their children have better lives socio-economically & I can't blame them for thinking this

I think the issue is not so much the pill, but the fact that many trafficked medicines into Africa are actually fake. They may actually be made of stuff that can harm people. PLUS the pill alone really won’t have the whitening results they seek. :/

Also glutathione whitening is not permamnent and you really need huge doses to get all over whitening. So obviously these women are so misinformed. :(

I think the problem is being white has been glorified to the point where it seem more attractive to be white and dead than to be black and healthy. But hey, I honestly don’t know much anyway 🚶🏾‍♂️

You’re not wrong. Colorism is a huge part of the problem and so is fake pharma that takes advantage of how color is viewed.
