In South Africa, unions would strike for months. As far as they are concerned incompetent teachers must be tolerated.

The best argument we have in SA is striking yet our children are drowning in education , concentration will eventually full apart

A teacher is better than no teacher at all.
-
Not really. I am a teacher and I know that a bad teacher can cause terrible damage. They must be well trained, disciplined and competent.

I advise the SA education department to emulate the Nigerian education to see how much they will unearth. Some educators don't have content of what they teach in SA schools.

This is very sad.If a teacher can't answer questions meant for his children then is that one too a teacher? We need to pay particular attention to teaching as it is the engine room to our development.

How does the Government plan to fill up the void that has been created, more so without affecting learners?

So, now who will replace those 22, 000 teachers? Thats hundreds of thousands of students without teachers being idle until they find someone else.
-
There are millions of unemployed graduates who would gladly take the jobs. Due to politics of favouritism, what we get in schools are teachers who were employed because they are connected to powers that be, and not teachers who are qualified and willing to do the job.
-
Unemployed graduates don't fancy teaching in rural areas, especially in Kaduna State
-
Well, those types fancy and enjoy being unemployed. The mentality of youths these days is appalling. Thinking the grass is very green in the big cities and abroad. However, the lack of infrastructure in rural areas would also discourage many.Hence govt has to step up their game
-
Agreed. We need improvement in infrastructure in the rural areas to encourage the youth to seek opportunities there
