Bravery? Not moreso than those who went to State House & detained the President. That was a far more perilous task. In a military intervention, whatever is your allotted task, you just do it.

IF someone had not stood down the Presidential Guards, nothing else would have worked on the day. That was the FOREMOST task. Maj Gen Moyo was part of a circle of plotters.Everyone has an allotted role.
-
In a military intervention, some occupy strategic institutions of the State, some arrest govt leaders, others mount roadblocks, Moyo did not unilaterally appear on TV.He was sent there by Gen Chiwenga.
-
Gen Chiwenga was the military mastermind+director of that intervention...infinitely more culpable than Maj Gen Moyo. So is Chiwenga not in govt cos he was not so brave? Your respondent should have just said "I dunno why Moyo"
-
Gen Chiwenga stepped into the lion's den, somehow neutralized the Presidential Guards whose resistance could have spelt major trouble, read the riot act to Pres Mugabe, guided Mnangagwa back from exile.
-
What is likelier is this - Gen Moyo is the recognisable face of the intervention which was well received. Keeping him in the limelight would see govt tapping into the uptick in Moyo's nationwide approval ratings

He has a Ph.D in International Relations too.
-
He is a career soldier too, and by being the face of the bizzare military operation it doesn't put him in good stead as the country's top diplomat.
-
If we allow ourselves to start seeing the doughnut and not the hole on it, we will give him a chance.

You will NEVER see FREE and DEMOCRATIC elections in Zimbabwe. Manangagwa and the old Fith Brigade (ZANU-PF) will never give up their power. What's needed is the International Criminal Court to clean the Zimbabwean swamp of its old corrupt killers!

We are seeing this 'face' of Zimbabwe because nothing has or will change. These faces are those from the Fith Brigade who partook in the killing of over 20,000 civilians in Matabeleland in the '80s. ZANU-PF will not relinquish their power, EVER!

He deserves it. More power drunk and trigger happy officials of the military, in Africa and beyond should think with their hearts and heads at the same time. They are meant to protect is and not constitute a threat to our lives. He did it for the good of his country.
