"I will not stand and watch this ****. There's no slavery anymore. We're not animals." Foreign maids in the Middle East are often legally bound to their employer and have limited rights. Despite stories of abuse, many women from Kenya and Ghana still go there for the work.pic.twitter.com/qPkecuTXNL

Kenya must reinstate that ban. @UKenyatta Do your job for once. How much did the Saudis bribe you to lift the ban? #HumanTrafficking #Slavery #FuckArabs

African states have the weakest foreign policies towards Western and Eastern countries. Close down embassies of those sick Arabic countries. Good relations among nations are for survival. Slavery and bondage is not survival. #HumanTrafficking

If people from the Middle East treat us as animals in our own countries, don’t expect better from them when you’re working in their countries. African countries need to create jobs for their citizens. #stopslavery

I agree but abuse of maids happen across Africa too. Taken from villages to work in the cities. Let's not ignore this too. If you are going to call it out in the Middle East you need to call it out home in Africa too.

There is no half slavery, slavery is slavery. Migrants are treated as slaves in Middle East and other places. They are sold as ‘merchandise’. Under Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court stipulates ‘enslavement’ is crimes against humanity. http://www.ipss-addis.org/y-scripts/file_download.php?pth=y-file-store/IPSS_Policy_Brief/&download_file=policy_analysis__vol__010_issue_02_final_142018.pdf&t=cont&id=35c4022b9c03635a0595 …

Poverty and the need to survive and suceed are extreme. Educated people with degrees are reduced to nothing in the search for better lives while greedy dictators stay in power doing nothing but consuming public funds. #Africansadreality #saveourkids

This even happens in Africa, on our own soil. Don’t believe me? Read about the Lebanese restaurant owner who smeared hot pepper on a Ghanaian workers eyes... Our African leaders don’t respect or value us as their own citizens. Honestly I’m tired of this sh**.

In Ethiopia there are a lot of unheard stories of abuses our sisters have suffered but our govt always look the opposite. What do you expect from a govt that cannot feed its own people and ask for a loan from perpetrators.
