Some say she's a myth, others say she's a true historical figure. Queen Nanny is a Jamaican National Hero 💪🏾and this why:pic.twitter.com/j4YrV0MCGO

    Queen Nanny: Jamaica's National Hero
Queen Nanny is said to have been a leader of the Maroons, a community which escaped slavery in Jamaica in the 18th Century. She's thought to have led the Maroons to victory against British colonisers.

A book documenting her life and legacy, to be released next September in celebration of what would have been her 100th birthday. I'm also working with her grandson on a clothing brand that will encompass what it means to "Walk Good".

The truly do. Lots of stories, struggles and history of indigenous peoples that have been buried. Their emancipation amongst other things.
