If we build strong export-oriented economies, strengthen our political systems through adherence to the rule of law and guided by democratic principles, foster social, economic and political inclusivity, we shall not beg to be heard. We will be too important to be ignored

By taking care of your people firstly, by managing resources effectively and second, fighting corruption seriously so that the majority benefit rather than the few. Your influence will then not one of begging but, one of embracing real freedom and empowerment for your people!

To start with, African leaders must embrace personal integrity and promote it through good governance. How can you demand for respect when you conduct is despicable?

Problem with most African Leaders, they still have a superiority complex mind. They hold foreigners in a higher regard than they do to fellow citizens. They have a mentality of no one in a country being richer than them so they choose to sell their countries in the process.

Real influence can only be attained, first by earning genuine respect of others. Sadly, our leadership is a club!

respect to rule of law, being humane to the citizens, not contesting or ruling for selfish reason, know when to resign or stop contesting rather than causing unnecessary wars and having the right people, youths, women inclusive in governance.

It is the same African leaders in cohort with some western government, causing Africa to beg for money. If most African leaders start respecting the rule of law, clearly written in their various constitutions, Africa will need no help from any foreign organisation or government.
