I've always been against skin bleaching. But as I grow older, I've become more understanding of people who feel so insecure in their own skins that they need to lighten them. Can you blame them? Society imposes an unspoken pressure; equating light to beauty. It is tragic but true

The black woman seems to be the poster child for skin bleaching, but I've seen old men with bleached leathery skins too. My Indian colleague also confesses to using lightening products because of the social pressures of her community, where light skin is considered superior caste
