You'll know Bridget Achieng as a Kenyan model, socialite and reality TV star. But she didn’t always live the glam life. Watch all 3 of #BBCAfricaEye's "Sugar" films now: http://bit.ly/africaeyesugar pic.twitter.com/kb99FNhXQL

"Baby girl, nothing goes for nothing"
Bridget Achieng takes us back to the slums where she grew up, and talks frankly about how she made herself famous through sex appeal, rich tycoons, and social media.

Nah I think she’s amazing. A house girl turned sugar baby that has used her money to build an orphanage that takes care of 30 kids? Modern day Robin Hood imo

And I’m glad that she was brutally honest about her realities of being a ‘sugar baby’ or ‘socialite’. They’re asked to do some demeaning and sometimes horrific sexual things for the lifestyle they want so much. It’s not the smooth ride that people think it is.

Poor men have studied and became entrepreneurs or politicians but it is almost impossible for women under patriarchy to rise from rags to riches other than prostitution. Let’s make all the money in the world and use them to build alternative ways for women to have success.

Being a woman is not a disability, three are many ways to make it to the life she wants, it will take time but is it not time the only thing we have that's free? Everyone chooses a path, they chose that.

If blaming systematic injustice on individual can be justified, Africa should starve to death.
