For the first time since I have been working with these wonderful proverbs - English fails me: the meaning of this one I believe is best expressed in my beloved Kiswahili ‘Kaa Chonjo’ which translates to ‘Stay alert’ but yet somehow means so much more than that - also ‘be aware’.

That is if you take the proverb from the perspective of the hunted. From the perspective of the hunter.... it is ‘The opportunities are always there, you just have to remember that they exist.
