Kingdom of Dahomey enriched itself by trafficking slaves from populations it conquered. Ooops. Not so romantic after all.

Don't blame him for that. He was lead into the slave trafficking by the white man. He said why kept them here when I need them to go work for me and I will in return give you guns, tobacco, salt etc, etc. Remember he had the slaves before and kept them in Dahomey.

I blame no one. History tells us that we must sometimes do as we can. He was ok to traffick guys who wasn't his fellows but his former local ennemies. He was probably making a good bargain, from his point of view.

Well I do not buy what your history said. No history tells you that. You seems making alibis in accepting the truth that he was lured into this whole trafficking business. In my African traditions, prior to the white coming toAfrica, war prisoners worked for the kingdomas slaves

Prior to the "white coming to africa", there was the arabic slave trade for centuries. Your distinctions are specious, especially while you discard history.

Nice clip. One nuance: the term slave used to designate the servant of the warriors has absolutely nothing to do with the dishumanisation of people as done by the European. Those horible perversions were completely foreign to african culture, before being raped by the colonizers.
