even till this our time, woman r still making great impact and names like Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Oby Ezekwesili, Aisha Yesufu,
@AishaYesufu Okonjo@NOIweala should be added in place as great women warriors of our time. i Still strongly argue Amina was never any role model. -
Talk of Marry Mitchel Slessor(blessed memory) was the role model who fought repressively and dangerously to stop the killing of twins in Nigeria, that was a great impact. Just that faith has a way of shaping life, Amina never had the opportunity to meet ottoman danfodio's..

Uhh I get the “see, it’s cool that she’s tough!” -Appeal but I find it kind of questionable to praise someone (male or female) for being known to have slept with captives / slaves and executing them the next day.
-
I doubt it's meant to be praise. They're just stating facts.

Women as capable as men confines women’s possibilities to the standard of men’s possibilities.

Queen amina never slept with male captives. You people always have a way of rubbishing the efforts and achievements of black people.

Honestly..this is so silly! How does this story represent Nigeria?! Was there even a Nigeria in her life time? What was the critical goal of the military campaigns she led? And how does sleeping with a man and killing him the next day represent the strength womanhood?
#AfroWays -
And who said anything about "representing" Nigeria? They're just sharing a story about a warrior woman who died over 400 years ago.
