Today’s African #proverb: In the year the lazy person ploughs, rain does not fall. A Kalanga proverb sent by Eunice Ntobedzi, Francistown, Botswana. How do you interpret this proverb? https://bbc.in/2qp84Oc pic.twitter.com/7A2TvSqUye

He never ploughs at all but would lie rain was the reason he had nothing in his barn.

Simply means consistency most of the time you fail at your first try. So a lazy person quits when it doesn't work out on first attempt. Consistency will keep on the better side cause if it didn't rain this year chances are it might rain next year. This proverb is for the winners!

Lazy person does not actually plough. Only ploughs with his mouth.

The lazy person shows no dignity of labour and so when they plough, God knows their laziness and doesn’t send the rain 🌧

By the time "the lazy person ploughs" it is to late for positive attention or interest that will actually result in productivity or profit.

Harvest isn't guaranteed; the chance of a poor harvest greatly increases when preparation is not made for it consistently.
