It's been 20 years since the death of Nigerian military ruler Sani Abacha. We've had a look at the numbers - what he is reported to have looted, and what's been recovered. Abacha remains a divisive figure in Nigeria - how do you remember him? https://bbc.in/2sHlA1j pic.twitter.com/qae1KrJBKk

Most of these returned monies may have already been re-looted. Especially those returned before 2015.

Before 2015? You got facts, or you just wanna shield buhari from corruption?

But @MBuhari said Abacha never looted, he constructed roads, school etc. He said this just three weeks ago.

Without doubt Switzerland is the biggest aider and abetter of corruption in Africa for being such ever-ready custodian of stolen funds from the ravaged continent. After 20yrs, it still pretends to be investigating clearly stolen funds from Nigeria by Gen Abacha.

That someone who stole so much (from Nigerians) can still be referred to as a divisive figure, is a clear indication of how deep-rooted our problem is in #Nigeria

Honestly, I think the many years of military rule is what left us this backward as a nation. Imagine if half of the monies looted had been invested in health, education, science etc. We would have long gone past clamouring for basic needs as a people.

And this man's family is still allowed to live peaceful glamorous lives. A good number of the key players in the military era are still alive and the wealth they looted are still very well within their reserve.Worse still, they have reintegrated themselves in our democracy

"They" gave us democracy, and they have always been key players in our political space. Since 1976 they have controlled this country and her resources publicly and privately.

They gave us the democracy they robbed us. Worse still, they did not leave the democracy for us in peace. They took off their khaki and joined in the game, still taking the lead and calling the shots and off course, continuing with the looting with shameless impunity
