    Spotlight 2: The UK's new research ship, the Sir David Attenborough, made its maiden voyage south late 2021. and colleagues were onboard to collect a mooring, again, near Rothera. We think it's awesome to see a team on this state-of-the-art ship in action.

  16. Today is Signy Research Station's 75th birthday! Scientific research began on Signy Island in 1947 when a three-man team occupied a site in Factory Cove above the old whaling station. The base they established was called Signy Island.
