I didn’t fully understand the real cost of a crumbling transportation system until I was standing in a jam packed Penn Station watching every train that would get me home before my daughters bedtime get cancelled. $436/ mo is insane and has nothing on the time we lose. – mjesto: New York Penn Station

Grateful for the reminder from that the White House is our house, the people’s house, and for providing those of us focused on creating an equitable, effective workforce system the skills we need to make it work for the people we serve.

There's no dedicated federal support to sustain partnerships between community/technical colleges and businesses. Tell Congress to pass the Community College to Career Fund Act & provide that support:

Can you name the professional teams with Native mascots? Do you know what the chop is? Do you know what tribal sovereignty is? Do you know what headdresses mean? How about drums? America has deep reconciliation to do with Native people, with our history, past & present.

If the 247 days of January 2020 have taught me anything, it’s that I need to recommit to my meditation practice. Fortunately, and are three steps ahead of me...

This awesome tool from just went right next to 's Miseducation database in my bookmarks. You can look at look at racial enrollment changes at *any* public K-12 school in the US from 1989-2016.

There’s a man sitting across the row from me on the talking to two younger women about how athletes can’t be rapists because women throw themselves at them and I think to myself, “when can I reschedule my morning meeting for if I end up getting arrested?”

Fun fact for Holocaust Remembrance Day: this was the same tactic used to keep European Jews out of the United States in the 1930s.

For a number of us at Central, today will be our last day in Brooklyn. What I’ll miss most is the sounds of protest, freedom fighting, and demands for justice. This is what our future looks like- and the future is bright.

Long Island is a funny place to live- it’s suburban but super close to NYC and also there is an active serial killer preying on sex workers, water so contaminated you can’t drink it, and a corrupt gov that keeps raising taxes but people seem cool w/ it cuz it enforces segregation
