As an undergrad, I had a prof who laid everything out in perfect order. I also had a prof who rambled, introduced extraneous topics, etc, so I gave the first prof good ratings and the second one bad ones. Later I realized the second prof was more effective. Comments?

I am not a big user of Twitter, but this caught my attention. If this refers to a real story, then I would bet that 2nd prof. is a bit older. The 1st prof. would be either younger or did not collect much 'wisdom'. Extraneous topics and tangents stop becoming tangents over time...

#Signal and what is#noise. Most of what we do in#AI consists in extracting signal and dumping noise. But noise may hold a lot more value ...

As for the pb of rambling vs. being/looking logical, it is just like the issue of #Reductionism. #Reductionism does NOT really work, but you have NO alternatives to it (Can someone disagree please?). Being logical is limiting, but you don't have other options
