ISIS is over, but transnational Muslim identity flourishes, as does the yearning for a state, a place of refuge, a homeland. My piece on caliphate dreams.

Repugnant. Absolutely repugnant. This should never be forgotten: the Zionist Organisation of America has sided with bigots, against the weak and powerless. Shameful.

CAMA gallery of Iranian contemporary art opens in London this evening. None of the 19 artists are present due to UK de facto travel ban on Iranians.

Bizarre - and negligent - for this article to omit that Iraqi state paid $000ms in civil servant salaries in the Iraqi half of the ‘caliphate’ until July 2015, net remittances lasted longer

Holy $$$$! Nasim the vegan Iranian woman has shot three in YouTube HQ in California before killing herself! after her channel was terminated. She was definitely the weirdest Iranian 'social media celebrity', very widely ridiculed and abused in comments...

1001 Feuilles. What a dreamy cosmopolitan pastry! Genius pastry chef from Aleppo introduces mille feuilles to baklava and laces them with pistachios and halva.

Exactly. Journalism’s relationship to US state power never more on display. It all actually makes one really miss the Shah, who saw it all coming in the crumbling of journalistic deference.

Appalling to see a DUP Member of Parliament re-tweet such appalling - it's not like he doesn't know who or what he was RT-ing. This party has a pact with the Conservative party - and what will happen? Nothing.

Helpful to case against at international criminal court. There will come a point where serving in the will mean avoiding traveling in much of the world, if one is not to end up jailed and on trial for crimes against humanity.

By my count, there are currently 163 stories on the home page and 116 on but not 1 is about the Israeli massacre in Gaza, which was featured in print by both. There is also no mention among 126 stories on 's US home page, or in 100 stories on
