We can't seem to even house people from our own country, yet the government is going all out for Ukrainians.

We *can* house people from our own country, but the govt doesn’t want to. Instead, it plays a game of blaming scarce resources on asylum seekers (who we take a very small % of). We should be a haven for those fleeing war and persecution. We should also have better housing policy.
