One of the infuriating things about so many comments from men on here today is that tons of men say the same thing when we leave our female friends but would never need to say it to each other. We know that women are at risk getting home, and we're not.

and the "waiting outside the house until the door is shut and locked before driving off" routine. Every. Single. Time.

I always drive, walk or insist on my female friends getting a taxi home. A sad state of affairs that I feel I have to.

Same, have always requested and exchanged texts with girlfriends when we get home and we each worry and check in if someone hasn't, to the point where we can be up a few hours waiting for that reply. It's not the same level of concern when we're leaving our guy friends.

My mother gets stressed if I don’t tell her I get home, even just from work when it’s dark, I’m 32. I do always text her when I get home when I tell her I’m on that way home.

I’m 43 with 3 kids, I haven’t lived at home for 25 yrs, and I still have to do this. It used to irritate me, now I see it as a symbol of mother love and plan to be just as irritating as my daughter grows up.
