1) Nish is as British as Andrew, so the use of "us" is an interesting distancing word though. 2) Horrible Histories - as the name would suggest - focuses on the nastier, gorier and grimmer bits of history. Why should British history be exempt from its usual modus operandi?

Tea from China and slavery was abolished in Britain and its territories before Victoria was on throne - so yes, even as a socialist, some of that video is factually wrong.

It's interesting how many people have seen that video as saying Victoria supported the slave trade, when in fact all it says is that the development of the sugar trade was on the back of slavery, which is true

Tea is from China innit

In the days of Victoria, tea came from India. Initially, a lot came from China through India, thanks to the success the British had in the Opium War of the 1840s. Another shameful episode in Britain colonial history.

Andrew's tweet is even full of imported words like "license", "purely" & "demean". At least he could do the proper British thing and use proper British words.
-
He’s also probably on the verandah outside his bungalow, opposite the jungle…
