New Spike Lee documentary about the pandemic opens with Ian Lipkin—Columbia virologist—saying he first heard about the outbreak on *December 15th*. Watched it three times to make sure I heard it right. Lee asks and Lipkin repeats the date. This is a big deal, no? December 15???pic.twitter.com/nE355EALac

Fouchier and Koopmans said they were the first to know (1st week of Dec according to Fouchier in the interview) but Fouchier later said he was mistaken h/t @TheSeeker268https://twitter.com/Ayjchan/status/1408839688312561672 …

Can journalists please reach out to Ron Fouchier and @MarionKoopmans to understand what they had heard about an outbreak in Wuhan in the *first week* of December 2019? This seems to be the earliest knowledge of the outbreak outside of China, right? https://twitter.com/TheSeeker268/status/1405553117844819973 …

Connor Reed describes being sick at the end of November 2019. I also remember people posting to Instagram about "wuhan acute respiratory syndrome" or "WARS" with the Wuhan hashtag at the end of 2019.https://news.sky.com/story/fighting-coronavirus-one-of-the-first-british-sufferers-describes-his-ordeal-11950631 …

Dutch speaking here: Mistaken? In the VPRO docu he says "dit was net na Sinterklaas, begin december", meaning "just after 'Sinterklaas' ", which is a very popular children's day on December 7th. Question is what he defines as "just after".https://youtu.be/5DeUBLeMnjY?t=120 …

          Replying to @AvaBonum @Ayjchan and

Correction: 'Sinterklaas' in Holland (Where RF lives) is on the 5th of December (it's on the 6th in Belgium where I live, I knew there was 1 day difference but so in Holland it's on the 5th of December, not on the 7th as I wrongly wrote above, apologies)
